Book Club

I am trying so hard to keep book club going and am supported by loyal people who love to read as much as I do and whose choices widen one’s own selections. This month we read “Hamnet” by Maggie O’Farrell and I really cannot recommend it highly enough, It is beautifully written and it is set in 16th century Stratford on Avon. The author manages to make the reader feel an understanding of life in those times. A splendid book. Next month’s is so different. “The Language of Baklava” by Diana Abu-Jeber. I haven’t read it yet but understand it is fascinating. In these troubled times I escape to my books and my garden and my family and friends and really hope that we are not locked down  as we were earlier in the year. I haven’t been brave enough to go indoors at restaurants but have had coffees and lunches outside with friends and what a blessing that is.
