GREAT NEWS, we’ve just heard that Harborough District Council are about to start work on construction of a double piste in Welland Park. I had started discussions with the Council about 3 years ago and met with their works manager in the Spring of 2024, so it is Great News to hear that it is going ahead.
It will be in the patch of grass between the old Bowls club house and the cafe, they are also installing a second table tennis table.
The best news is that it will be free to use and will be open at all times, so if we fancy a game on a summer evening we can just pop along. We won’t have exclusive use of course, but the Tennis club seem to manage ok with the shared use courts.
