Birding Thursday – February Report

Just like January, we had a grey, overcast, drizzly morning for our visit to East Carlton Country Park. As we made our way up the park a Song Thrush was happily singing away despite the weather! As we entered the top woods a Nuthatch was spotted flitting about high above us. Nothing of note for a while other than Blackbird, Blue and Great Tit, as we meandered our way around the park until we got to the bottom woods where a Goldcrest was found amongst some Long-tailed Tit. Down by the ponds a Treecreeper (pic above) was observed dashing about from tree to tree. Finally at the café building a Pied Wagtail was seen walking along the ridge tiles as is their want! A hot drink and a natter in the café rounded off the morning’s birding.
