Wandering through the woods at Warwickshire Wildlife Trust’s Brandon Marsh reserve was pretty quiet, just Blue, Great, Long-tailed Tit and robin seen, Nuthatch heard but didn’t show! Moving around to the main East Marsh Pool there was plenty to see there but nothing of note – lots of Greylag and Canada Goose, Lapwing, a Grey Heron and a Pied Wagtail on the island with plenty of Mallard, Gadwall, Teal, Shoveler and a couple of Tufted duck in the water. Things really hotted up on our way back through the other woods and heathland when in fairly quick succession we had brilliant views of a Kingfisher on Goose Pool then Green Woodpecker and Jay (pictured above), finishing off with a flock of Siskin and Goldfinch near the Centre. A good morning rounded off nicely with a cuppa and snack in the cafĂ©.
