Since moving to Welland Park Piste in the Spring, we’ve been able to make the most of the free open access and to play much more frequently.
We use an online spreadsheet so that any member can notify people of the extra sessions and we have definitely UPPED our game.
When Wycliffe Bowls & Petanque Club ( They have a uniform!! ) challenged us to a match at their 10 Pistes near Lutterworth, we jumped at the chance and enjoyed a great morning of play, followed by lunch at the Man at Arms.
Our two pairs teams; Stuart & Graham and David & Nikki did a great job of holding their own against the Home teams and came away with a very satisfying 3:3 draw, congrats to them all.
The rest of us played a mini league which was also great fun, being able to play against members that normally play at different times.
We’re looking forward to our HWu3a open afternoon on Wed 24th, when we’ve got 32 new people coming along to try the game for 30 minute taster sessions, and we’re sure that some of the visitors will want to take up the game, so will probably be shuffling things around a bit to make space for them to play.
